Booking, travel, pricing and delivery
How far in advance should I book?
Weekend wedding dates tend to go six to nine months ahead, and peak season (May to September) sooner than that. Portraits, events, property and commercial shoots can usually be booked within two or three weeks.
Do you travel?
Yes, gladly. Travel within 60 miles is included. Beyond that I quote travel and, for anything over four hours away, a night's accommodation. I've shot in eleven countries and I'm always up for the twelfth.
What do you need from me to hold a date?
A signed agreement and a 25% deposit. Until both are in, the date stays open to anyone else who asks.
How many photos will I get?
A full wedding day is 500 or more edited images. A portrait session is around 40. Editorial and commercial deliverables are agreed in the brief, because you usually need ten great frames rather than four hundred good ones.
When do I get them?
Previews within a week. The full gallery in two to four weeks depending on the shoot. Real estate is delivered within 48 hours.
Do you retouch?
I hand-edit every image I deliver — colour, exposure, the odd distraction removed. I don't reshape bodies or faces, and I don't use AI generation on your photographs.
Can we have the RAW files?
No, in the same way a chef doesn't send out the ingredients. The edit is part of what you're hiring. If you need a specific frame treated differently, ask and I'll do it.
What happens if it rains?
We shoot anyway. Some of my favourite pictures are wet ones. I carry clear umbrellas and enough lighting to make an indoor plan work.
What if you're ill on the day?
I'm part of a small network of photographers I trust. If I genuinely cannot shoot, I find you someone at the same standard and you pay no more than we agreed.
Can I print the photos myself?
Yes. Personal print rights come with every delivery. For commercial work, licensing terms are written into the quote.
Do you offer albums or prints?
Yes, hand-bound albums and archival prints, quoted after you've seen the gallery and know what you love.
